BIOGRAFIE

Eva Cox was born at the crack of dawn on 25th March 1970 in Genk (Belgium). In 1999 she started writing poems and she has gained quite a reputation for convincingly performing these from memory. Such a reputation, in fact, that on 9th September 2001 she won the First Flemish Poetry Slam, where she defeated such top performers as Peter Holvoet-Hanssen and Vital Baeken.

The poems below form her debut in a literary periodical: poems of hers were earlier only published in newspaper 'Het Belang van Limburg' and on billboard in the former cemetery in Hasselt, Belgium.

With her two children, Cox lives in Gent where she works at the Poetry Centre.
